    DISEASE: Disease surveillance continues
    The Committee on the Management of Epidemics Diseases Potentiality epidermal (CGEMP) held a working meeting Thursday, July 22 at the Ministry of Health and Public Hygiene.     In reviewing the recommendations, the Health Department of the City of Conakry (DSVCO) confirmed the identification of private health facilities as part of an awareness session and training on the potential epidemic diseases.

    Regarding the epidemiological situation of meningitis in the Health Centers in the town of Dixinn, it was registered 126 cases and 14 deaths between 20th and 27th week of 2010.

    For measles, it was recorded in health facilities in the country, to the same period, cases of 1,304 cumulative cases and 3 deaths in hospitals nationwide.

    Other diseases under epidemiological surveillance and priority recorded in the health districts in the same period of 2010 are: maternal tetanus and neo-natal, 24 cases and 10 deaths of cumulative AIDS cases, acute flaccid paralysis (AFP) 44 cumulative cases and 0 deaths in the first 27 weeks of 2010, the cumulative red diarrhea cases in the same period of health facilities in the country is 4,277 cases and three deaths, and yellow fever, 76 cases and 0 deaths.

    Regarding seasonal influenza A (H1N1), the record made in the health districts notification, in 350 cases and 0 deaths during the same periods of 2010.
