16 pupils of the Tema Parents Association School have so far tested positive to the H1N1 influenza. The number is part of an initial 44 certified test results from the Noguchi Memorial Institute.
The test follows an initial diagnosis of the flu in two pupils of the school at the weekend.
The school is currently closed down, except for students in their final year.
Speaking to Obonu News, the Tema Metropolitan Health Director, Dr. Ernestina Mensah Quainoo said tests are still being carried out on the remaining specimen of phlegm of over one hundred pupils of the school.
She said the affected pupils are responding to treatment.
