  • Algeria: four deaths owed to the influenzal virus H1N1

ALGIERS ? Four deceases owed to the influenzal virus were recorded in Algeria since October 2010, pointed out on Monday a representative for the Algerian Ministry of Health. " Four old persons having contracted the virus HAS / H1N1 and introducing a risk factor of (linked seriousness chronic pathology) died ", declared the manager of prevention to the Ministry of Health Sma?l Mesbah, during a press conference. Mr Mesbah, whose purposes are brought back by the News agency APS, added that " the majority of the positive confirmed cases of influenza are owed to the virus of type B ". " On 878 samples taken delivery since October 2010, 414 turned out to be seasonal influenza.
The majority of positive confirmed cases are owed to the influenzal virus of type B, and alone 25 % of these positive cases are brought back in the influenzal virus IN / N1H1 ", he said. The virus H1N1 had caused about fifty decease in Algeria during season 2009-2010. Algeria acquired 2.220.000 doses of vaccine this year against seasonal influenza, is the double of the order of the past year, according to the Institute Pastor of Algeria. The worldwide Organization of health (WHO) had proclaimed in August the end of the pandemic of influenza H1N1, the first one of the XXIth century, which had thrown into a panic the planet more than a year ago, before proving to be "moderate " and distinctly less destructive than a simple seasonal influenza.
