  • Sudan: High rate of pneumonia in South Kordofan

"NUBA MOUNTAINS FACES HIGH RATE OF PNEUMONIA

    13 March 2013

Health officials in Nuba Mountains of Southern Kordofan said there is a high rate of pneumonia infection in the region.

Nabil Barnaba Angelo, a Nurse at Debi Health Care Centre, run by German Emergency Doctors (GED) Hospital, said majority of the patients are children.

He said the current weather condition is too tough for the children and that the German Emergency Doctors has provided antibiotic for treating the pneumonia.

The Nurse called on the local authorities to support them with medications, and that the supplies they get from GED every month runs out quickly due to large population in the area."
