CS Councilman Stewart dies in Africa

College Station Councilman Larry Stewart died Monday morning after being hospitalized for several weeks in South Africa during a vacation, officials said.
He was 67.
Stewart, who served in Place 5, was there for a 10-day safari and was scheduled to return home two weeks ago. He was hospitalized in Pretoria on June 9. He was reportedly improving from pneumonia, but his condition worsened Sunday, city officials said.
