Am I reading this right...that on July 20, 2007, 254 cattle out of a herd of 300 were infected with bird flu?

No, I would say the affected population is 1-2 year old layer chickens:

breeding of layers to few manpower with two 24 months old bands (100) and 11 months (200)

Thank you. I did not know that.

          When I saw:
Outbreak Summary total = 3 outbreaks
          cattle susceptible = 300
          birds susceptible = 8129

I took it as being accurate. Maybe the word cattle means something else in French?

We feed chicken litter to our cattle so is it a stretch to think livestock in AI infected areas could be ingesting the virus through food contaminated food? Or is livestock immune to the virus?

The 300 infected birds are described. There are no infected cattle.
