Dr Patrick Chang Taiwanese Ambassador to The Gambia yesterday presented over 5000 copies of bird flu tool-kits to Dr Tamsir Mbowe, Secretary of State for Health and Social Welfare, in his office in Banjul to scale up mass sensitisation campaign against bird flu which has been reported in some other African countries in the sub-Saharan Africa.

Speaking at the presentation ceremony held at the DoSH in Banjul, Dr Patrick Chang, Taiwanese Ambassador to The Gambia, said this is a result of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed between DoSH and the Taiwanese Health Commission in Geneva last year.
Dr Chang assured the DoSH of Taiwanese Government continuous support at all times and hopes that many Gambians will benefit from the mass sensitisation.
In receiving the bird flu pamphlets, Tamsir Mbowe, SOS for Health and Social Welfare, applauded Dr Chang and the Taiwanese Government for the gesture, noting that it will go a long way in the fight against bird flu, and assured Dr Chang of The Gambia government?s continuous support at all times.

For his part, Ismaila Njie, Chief Nursing Officer, commended the Taiwanese Government for their contribution to the health sector noting that the pamphlets will greatly help the DoSH in sensitising the public about bird flu, and assured that the notes will be put into good use.
