Du?kou? / Food poisoning: 6 victims including 2 deaths recorded

The village of Yrozon, in the sub-prefecture of Bagohouo, in Du?kou?, lost two of its children, in this case Boh? No?l and Dji Ouloa Th?r?se, on Sunday, March 17, 2019, following intoxication, work of Deho Bascard, nephew of one of the victims.

Four (4) other people, such as Zouhou Bah Michel, Vlind? Pac?me S?raphin, Djehi Bah Olivier and Sohou Th?r?se, have saved their lives thanks to the promptness of the health workers. But how did we arrive at these sad facts? Everything started from a land dispute. During the month of February, a misunderstanding related to a piece of forest, bursts between Boh? Noel (40) and his nephew, Deho Baspard (26 years) Seized the dispute between the uncle and his nephew, the customary authorities of this locality decided in favor of Boh? No?l. Deho Baspard does not like this result. During chats with his relatives, he ruminates to take revenge on his uncle who deals with all the names. These threats, thinly veiled, come to Boh? No?l who is not careful.

At the beginning of March, this one falls ill. Is it a spell cast on him by his nephew or the fact of nature? Nobody will know it. However, despite care at the dispensary of this village, the health of the poor planter is only falling. After a few days, his family resolves to resort to traditional medicine. On Saturday, March 16th, around 7 pm, he boiled a decoction of shrub leaves and roots, intended for drinking. At the moment the lady is busy in the kitchen, she receives the visit of Baspard, the nephew, who asks to light his cigarette on the fire that serves to cook the drug on fire. The woman sees no problem.

For her, this could contribute to the tension between her husband and nephew. After which, Baspard returns home. The medicine being cooked, Boh? No?l is served. Dji Ouloa, Zouhou Michel, Armored Pac?me, Diehl Bah Olivier and Sohou Th?r?se, relatives of No?l also drink the same decoction. But some time later, they are acute stomach attacks, vomiting and other headaches. They are taken urgently to the Du?kou? General Hospital. Unfortunately, during the transfer, Boh? No?l and Dji Ouloa Th?r?se die on the way. What could have happened? Who provoked this hecatomb ?, one wonders in this village.

And the answer will not be long. Indeed, panicking, Deho Baspard goes to Niambly, a village near Yrozon, to resort to the supernatural practices of a witch doctor, to extinguish the murder case. But unfortunately, the witch doctor is caught in a masks camp. Pressed with questions by the villagers, he goes to table and confide to have come under the recommendations of Baspard. The latter, in turn, arrested, will make serious confessions. He says he has poisoned his uncle's drug, but pleads for the leniency of the villagers, before being taken to the gendarmerie brigade and then to the civil prison of Man. The Witch Doctor, meanwhile, was relaxed for the benefit of the doubt.
