Ebola outbreak update: As of today, 27 August 2014, we have a total of 244 patients who have survived Ebola Virus Disease and subsequently discharged. The total number of new confirmed cases for today is 6: Kenema 2 and Western Area Urban 4.
Western Area confirmed figures are cumulative for 25th and 26th August 2014.
The total number of cumulative confirmed deaths is 363 and cumulative number of confirmed cases is 961 with Kailahun 440, Kenema 328; Kono 1; Kambia 1; Bombali 20; Tonkolili 13; Port Loko 57; Pujehun 7; Bo 35; Moyamba 9; Bonthe 1; Western Area Urban 34; Western Area Rural 15. Koinadugu district still remains the only district that has not registered confirmed cases of Ebola in Sierra Leone.
The cumulative number of probable cases is 37 and probable deaths 37 while the total cumulative number of suspected cases is 59 and suspected deaths is 11.

EBOLA VIRUS DISEASE - SITUATION REPORT (Sit-Rep) ? 30August, 2014
Main highlights
For the 29th August 2014, a total of 43new samples were received and analysed by the CDC Kenema& South African
NICD MLU Western Area Laboratory: Kailahun (10), Kenema (12), Kambia (1), Koinadugu (5), Pujehun (1), Bo (6)
and Western Area (8). Fifteen (15) of these samples are positive, 20 are negative while 8 suspected cases have been
recommended by the CDC Kenema & NICD MLU Labfor a second test base on their symptoms onset.(See table 1)
One positive sample tested by the NICD MLU Lab was not counted here since it has no identification
The cumulative number of Laboratory confirmed cases are 1,033 whiles confirmed death is 383 with a Case Fatality
Rate (CFR) based on confirmed cases of 37.1%.
Sixty-four (64) patients are currently admitted at the Kenema Isolation Unitwith no report received from theKailahun
Isolation unit. Cumulative discharge is still 244
CDC Kenema Laboratory is still analysing Kailahun samples
DMOs, DSOs & clinicians are reminded to read the comment on the daily Laboratory result for your action
Data cleaning is on-going, therefore the figures in table 1 will keep on changing as the cleaning continues

... As of 31 August 2014, 3685 (probable, confirmed and suspected) cases and 1841 deaths have been reported in the current outbreak of Ebola virus disease by the Ministries of Health of Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone.
In Nigeria, there have been 21 cases and 7 deaths.
In Senegal, one case has been confirmed and there have been no Ebola deaths or further suspected cases.

For the 5th September2014, a total of 50new samples were received and analysed by the CDC Kenema & South
African NICD MLU Western Area Laboratory: Kailahun (7), Kenema (4), Port Loko (13), Bo (1) and Western Area
(25).Twenty-three ( 23) o f these samples are positive , 24 are negative while 3 suspected cases have
been recommended for a second test base on their symptoms onset. (See table 1)
Three (2 positive & 1 negative) samples analysed by NICD MLU Lab have no district identification, therefore are not
included in table 1 below.
The cumulative number of Laboratory confirmed cases are 1,234 whiles confirmed death is 413 with a Case Fatality Rate (CFR)
based on confirmed cases of 33.5%.
Seventy-one (71) patients are currently admitted at the Kenema Isolation Unit with no report received from the Kailahun
Isolation Unit.
Cumulative discharge is still 260

1. COUNTRIES WITH WIDESPREAD AND INTENSE TRANSMISSION
As of 6 September 2014 2, 4269 (probable, confirmed and suspected) cases and 2288 deaths have been reported in the current outbreak of Ebola virus disease by the Ministries of Health of Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone3
The increase in cases continues to accelerate in countries with widespread and intense transmission: Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone.
