Since February 9 our country is faced with a febrile illness whose epicenter is located in Forest Guinea. The latest information is presented well, 05 new cases of suspected viral haemorrhagic fever have been detected in the Prefectures of Gu?k?dou (3 suspects with 0 deaths) and Macenta (2 suspects with 0 deaths).
Samples of suspected haemorrhagic fever recorded in Conakry were negative virological examination by the team at the Pasteur Institute of Dakar. Accumulated suspects recorded to date March 24, 2014, amounted to 86 cases with 59 deaths (including 34 community deaths) after investigation. These cases and deaths are divided as follows: Gu?k?dou (60 cases / 44 deaths); Macenta (19 cases / 11d?c?s) and Kissidougou (7 cases / 4 deaths). Thus, the Ministry of Health in collaboration with its partners has taken the following steps:
Free treatment of all patients in the isolation centers, Information populations on individual and collective hygiene, exclusive Accountability treatment of the bodies of deceased patients to health personnel and the Guinean Red Cross to limit contamination, census of all persons who have had direct contact with the patients who died and those with the following signs: fever, diarrhea, vomiting, fatigue pronounced bleeding, broadcast awareness messages in the media (radio, TV, internet).
The Ministry of Health in the framework of the coordination established a communication device comprising among others; Holding a daily meeting to update on the epidemic and response activities underway; Implementation of a communication unit responsible for regularly reviewing the information on the evolution of the epidemic; Regular communication of the status of the epidemic in the media, on behalf of the Government, the Ministry of Health thanks all partners for technical material and financial support to the response against the epidemic. We ask the people to keep calm and serenity, the disease remains confined and under control.
