DRC: A suspected case of hemorrhagic fever recorded at the Bole Bole health center
August 18, 2023
Kinshasa, August 18, 2023 – A suspected case of hemorrhagic fever has been recorded at the Bole Bole health center, in the territory of Wamba, in the province of Haut-Uélé, national deputy Geneviève Inagosi announced on Tuesday.
Mrs. Inagosi, who is also spokesperson for the Political Commission of the Alliance for the Presidential Majority (AMP), indicated that the patient presents symptoms compatible with haemorrhagic fever.
“I immediately contacted the health authorities and insisted on the need for urgent and appropriate treatment,” Ms Inagosi said.
Hemorrhagic fever is a serious illness that can be fatal if left untreated. It is caused by a virus that is transmitted through contact with the blood or bodily fluids of an infected person.
Symptoms of hemorrhagic fever include fever, headache, muscle aches, sore throat, diarrhea, vomiting, and bleeding.
If you experience any of these symptoms, it is important to seek medical attention immediately.
Mrs. Inagosi also called on the population to remain calm and not to panic. She assured that the health authorities are taking all necessary measures to contain the epidemic.

Ebola epidemic: a suspected case in Bolebole
By Pierre Kahambwa
AUGUST 19, 2023
We are in the province of Haut-Uélé. In the territory of Wamba, Bolebole is a village known because of the intense activities around the mining sites.
Information coming from Bolebole since August 17 indicates that a suspected case of Ebola has been found in this corner of the DRC. It will be a first because generally Ebola often strikes greater Equateur and part of North Kivu and Tshopo.
Pending confirmation from the INRB, the population is required to strictly respect health measures, including the isolation of any suspected case and lead any suspect to the nearest health facilities.
