Since the outbreak of hemorrhagic fever in the town of Kabo some 400km north of Bangui in which 3 people were killed last month, the Central African population is on alert throughout the national territory following suspicion of Ebola which continues to grow in this country. Yesterday afternoon the district Ouango Bangui, a suspected case was reported to us following the death of a man from the town Mourou-river and suspected of catching Ebola fever.
August 10, 2016 - The Institut Pasteur in Bangui has just confirmed a cholera outbreak in the city of Bangui.
Approached by the Ministry of Health, a team from the Institut Pasteur in Bangui has investigated and confirmed a suspected case of cholera in the city of Bangui on August 8, 2016.
This is the first identified in Bangui but 36 other cases of watery acute diarrhea and severe dehydration have been confirmed, including the village of Mourou-river in the sub-prefecture of Ndjoukou between July 27 and August 5, 2016. To date, 12 people died and more cases are being investigated by the Pasteur Institute of Bangui and its partners.
