    Djibouti confirms its first case of coronavirus: Health ministry
    The East African country of Djibouti confirmed its first case of coronavirus on Wednesday.

    The Health Ministry said the case was from a Spanish national, who was part of a 32-member Spanish special forces unit that arrived in the East African nation on March 14 and who tested positive on March 17.

    The ministry said the special forces unit did not come into contact with Djiboutians and they would return to Spain...

        ADDIS ABABA, March 29 (Xinhua) -- The Djibouti Ministry of Health on Sunday disclosed the number of COVID-19 cases in the horn of Africa country has reached 18.

        The Djibouti Ministry of Health said it had in recent days performed 195 tests, out of which four were confirmed cases of COVID-19, bringing the total number of infected people to 18.

        "The clinical status of the 18 COVID-19 infected people remains stable and satisfactory," according to a statement issued by the ministry.

              • Two hundred and eighteen (218) tests were carried out.
              • Three (3) are confirmed positive for Covid-19 including two (2) contact cos and one (1) new cos.
              Also, since the beginning of the epidemic, we have identified:
              • One thousand thirty-three (1033) tests carried out.
              • Thirty-three (33) cos positive for Covid-19, present in Djiboutian territory.
              The epidemiological analysis of the situation for 14 days, that is to say since the detection of the first cos on March 18, 2020, shows that:
              • The age group most affected is that of 16 to 30 years old, followed by that of 31 to 45 years old.
              • The distribution of positive cases by sex is as follows:
              • 573 male: 433 female

                This Thursday 02 April 2020:

                For the first time since the start of the epidemic in our country, we declare this morning, two (2) people tested positive and hospitalized at Arta hospital, are considered cured, after 2 negative PCR tests.

                Regarding the situation of the day of the COVID-19 epidemic in Djibouti:

                • Two hundred and four (204) tests were carried out.

                • Seven (7) tested positive for COVID-19 including six (6) contact cases and one (1) new case,

                • Eighteen (18) people remain in quarantine at H?pital aBoultard ”.

                We have therefore, since the beginning of the epidemic, carried out one thousand two hundred and thirty-seven (1237 tests) and the total number of people positive for COVID-19, on the national territory, is increased to forty (40) including healed cases.

                This disease reminds us of how vulnerable and dependent we are on each other. The responsible behavior of each of us could save lives.

                We have a duty to remember the barrier gestures:

                1. Wash your hands with soap very regularly:

                2. Cough or sneeze into the crease of the elbow, or into a tissue that should be thrown away immediately

                3. Respect a social distance of at least one (I) meter;

                4. Disinfect the regular contact surfaces

                5. Respect containment. Stay home.

                Finally, people who have been tested negative for COVID-19 must imperatively complete home quarantine for 14 days.

                            ADDIS ABABA, April 10 (Xinhua) -- Djibouti's Ministry of Health on Friday announced 10 new COVID-19 confirmed cases, bringing the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the Horn of Africa nation to 150.

                            The Djiboutian Ministry of Health, in a statement issued on Wednesday, disclosed that from the total of 341 people who were tested for the novel coronavirus over the last 24 hours,10 people were tested positive for the virus.

                            According to the ministry, some 36 people who have been tested positive for COVID-19 have so far recovered from the virus since Djibouti confirmed its first case on March 18.

                            On Thursday, Djibouti had recorded its first COVID-19 related death, as well as five new confirmed cases of COVID-19
