Chad - COVID19: 220 cured in 6 days and drop in the fatality rate

Chad - COVID19: 220 cured in 6 days and drop in the fatality rate
In six days, 220 patients were declared cured of Covid-19, according to a count of figures from the Ministry of Public Health, while a drop in the fatality rate is noted with a decrease in the number of deaths.

This Thursday, 54 healings were announced, while the day before, health authorities spoke of 56 healings. On May 26, 59 healings were recorded and on May 25, there were 29 healings. On May 23 and 24, a total of 22 healings were reported.

Out of 726 cases recorded since March 19, 2020, 413 people have been cured, or more than 56.8%.

Chad currently has 65 deaths, or 8.95%. In recent days, the case fatality rate (percentage of deaths compared to the number of cases registered) has fallen below 10%.

This positive development in the health situation could lead to the gradual lifting of certain measures but also to the resumption of prices. However, the discipline of citizens is decisive, according to the head of state Idriss D?by.

During his last intervention at the National Assembly, the Minister of Public Health assured that more than 90% of the contaminated healthcare personnel is cured. Prof. Mahamoud Youssouf Khayal suggested that the number of Covid-19 screenings will be increased.

A few weeks ago, the Minister of Public Health predicted a drop in the curve if, in particular, the wearing of masks became widespread.
