        Praia, 21 Jul 2020 (Lusa) - Cape Verde today registered 36 more cases of infection with the new coronavirus, on the islands of Santiago and Sal, and increased the total accumulated since March 19 to 2,107, according to data from the Ministry of Health.

        In a statement, that Ministry informed that, in the last 24 hours, the country's laboratories analyzed 372 samples, which resulted in 36 positive cases, on the islands of Santiago (28) and Sal (8).

        On the island of Santiago, the cases were distributed by the municipalities of Praia (23), Santa Catarina (1), Santa Cruz (3) and S?o Miguel (1).

        The same source added that the country started to count 1,100 recovered cases, 37 more than the previous day, in Praia (18), Santa Catarina (11) Santa Cruz (2) and Sal (6).

        According to the Ministry of Health, the country currently has 984 active cases, 21 deaths and two patients transferred to their respective countries, out of a total of 2,107 positive cases accumulated since March 19.

        In Africa, there are 15,418 confirmed deaths in more than 736,000 infected in 54 countries, according to the latest statistics on the pandemic in that continent.

        The covid-19 pandemic has already claimed more than 610,000 deaths and infected more than 14.7 million people in 196 countries and territories, according to an assessment by the French agency AFP.

        The disease is transmitted by a new coronavirus detected in late December in Wuhan, a city in central China.

          Praia, 23 Jul 2020 (Lusa) - Cape Verde today confirmed another 36 new cases of infection by the coronavirus, the majority on the island of Santiago, increasing the accumulated total of infections since March 19 to 2,190, according to data from the Ministry of Health.

          According to that Cape Verdean ministry, the country's virology laboratories analyzed 301 samples in the last 24 hours, of which 36 gave a positive result for covid-19.

          The same source added that the country still registered 18 people recovered from the disease, making a total of 1,150 patients discharged from hospital so far.

          With regard to active cases, there are 1,017, to which are added 21 deaths and two transferred, out of a total of 2,190 accumulated positive cases of the disease since March 19, according to the Ministry of Health ...

            Cape Verde today registered 66 more recovered and one death. Of those recovered Praia has 29, Santa Catarina ten, S?o Salvador do Mundo one, Tarrafal de Santiago two, Santa Cruz five, S?o Domingos two and Sal 17.

            Today, the country has registered another 30 positive cases resulting from the 359 samples analyzed in the virology laboratories, according to data from the epidemiological bulletin.

            Of these 30 positive cases of COVID-19, seven new infections were diagnosed in Praia, Ribeira Grande de Santiago 12, Santa Catarina de Santiago two, Santa Cruz two, S?o Miguel two, S?o Salvador do Mundo two and Ribeira Brava S?o Nicolau three .

            The samples from S?o Vicente, Tarrafal de Santiago and S?o Louren?o dos ?rg?os were all negative.

            With the updated data, the country now counts 980 active cases, 1216 recovered cases, 22 deaths and two transferred, making a total of 2220 accumulated positive cases.

            The Ministry of Health and Social Security continues to call on people to stay at home and take appropriate care to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

                Cape Verde recorded an additional 26 people infected with covid-19 on three islands in the last 24 hours, bringing the cumulative figure to 2,354 cases, but 1,616 have already been reported as recovered, health officials announced.

                In a statement, the Cape Verde Ministry of Health states that 289 samples were processed since Monday in the country's virology laboratories, 21 of which gave positive results for the new coronavirus in Praia, as well as in S?o Miguel (03) , both municipalities on the island of Santiago.

                Positive cases were also confirmed on the islands of S?o Nicolau, in the municipality of Ribeira Grande (01), and on the island of Sal (01).

                In addition to the 26 new cases diagnosed in the last 24 hours, 66 more recovered from the disease (half of which on the island of Sal) were confirmed by laboratory analysis in the same period, with 714 cases remaining in the country.

                  New infections found in Praia, Santa Catarina, Santa Cruz, S?o Louren?o dos ?rg?os, Ribeira Grande de Santiago, S?o Domingos and Sal.

                  The Ministry of Health announced today that 45 new cases of COVID-19 have been found in the country.

                  Of the total number of cases, Praia registered 27 new infections, Santa Catarina two, Santa Cruz six, one in S?o Domingos and also in Ribeira Grande de Santiago and S?o Louren?o dos ?rg?os, and seven in Sal.

                  In all, 263 samples were analyzed, adds the Ministry of Health in today's Epidemiological Bulletin.

                  With these new cases, Cape Verde starts to register 2,418 accumulated positive cases and 1694 recovered. There are still to register two patients transferred to their countries of origin and 23 deaths, the last of which registered yesterday, as explained by the National Director of Health in a press conference.

                    Today, Cape Verde registered 33 more positive cases of COVID-19 and 68 recovered, as stated by the National Director of Health, Artur Correia, at the daily press conference on COVID-19 in the country.

                    Of the 33 new positive cases, Praia has 21, Ribeira Grande de Santiago one, Santa Cruz two, S?o Domingos two and Sal seven, most of which were collected last week, which were awaiting analysis.

                    Today 68 people were discharged: 25 in Praia, four in Santa Catarina, one in Santa Cruz and 38 in Sal. With this data, the country now counts a total of 2451 accumulated positive cases of COVID-19, 1824 recovered and 23 deaths .

                    Artur Correia also said that today ten suspected cases were detected, two in Ribeira Grande de Santiago, three in Santa Catarina, three in Santa Cruz and two on Sal island.

                    Regarding patients in hospital isolation, he said, there are 16 patients, including a suspected case. “Of these 16 patients, seven are at Hospital Santa Rita Vieira in Santa Catarina de Santiago, all are stable. At Hospital Agostinho Neto we have eight, three of which inspire extra care, and at Hospital Ramiro Figueira we only have one suspect case ”.

                    Today at national level, 277 rapid tests were carried out, 161 in Praia, 20 in Santa Catarina, one in S?o Salvador do Mundo, six in Tarrafal de Santiago, 20 in S?o Miguel, 25 in Santa Cruz, four in Mosteiros, one in Ribeira Grande Santo Ant?o, 10 in Porto Novo, six in S?o Domingos, 12 in Sal, three in Ribeira Brava S?o Nicolau and eight in Boa Vista.

                    Artur Correia explained that in the rapid tests performed today, ten positives were registered, one in Praia, two in Santa Catarina, one in S?o Miguel, four in Santa Cruz, one in S?o Domingos and one in Boa Vista.

                    "In cumulative terms, until now we have performed 41,203 rapid tests, the vast majority of which are the result of the activity of confirming the investigation and clarifying the investigation of epidemiological surveillance, namely at the port and airport level", he indicates.
