The map above is missing data on the Comoros. As per internationally recognized boundaries, the map should list the 50 cases reported on the island of Mayotte, the fourth island of Comoros under French illegal administration.

Among all the proven cases, 3 are currently hospitalized at the Mayotte Hospital Center, including 2 still in intensive care.

Today, 4 people are officially healed.

In stage 2, the objective is first to slow the spread of the virus and to contain the evolution of the disease on the island. This is all the more important since the disease can affect everyone without distinction, regardless of their origin, gender or age.
In this regard, the example of the metropolis, where adolescents and young adults are also contaminated, must keep all residents of Mayotte on alert.
Coronavirus: 8 new cases confirmed in Mayotte: now bringing the total number of cases to 50.

"The only security we have is our ability to adapt."

              Coronavirus
Mobile teams in the field with positive cases at home

For several days, ARS mobile teams made up of doctors and nurses (French and Shimaore) have been traveling to the homes of COVID + patients whose state of health is stable and who does not require hospitalization.

              Their missions consist in:

Check the patient's state of health and remind him of the barrier measures to be adopted strictly for the duration of the contagion (wear a mask,
do not share the bed with another person,
wash your hands regularly with soap and water,
cough in your elbow and especially watch yourself and call 15 if your signs worsen (shortness of breath)
Ensure that the patient's living environment is conducive to strict isolation
Ask those around you about living conditions and habits.
Screening tests could, possibly, be offered to the immediate family and the neighborhood, in certain situations.

Coronavirus: 17 new cases of COVID-19 have been identified in Mayotte, bringing the total number to 271.

                  Health situation
                  ? ARS
The ARS registers today 17 new positive cases.
Of these, 9 were taken on April 17, 8 were taken on April 18.
The majority of these latter cases are people in the immediate circle of previous confirmed cases.

The ARS therefore pursues the strategy applied in stage 2 of the epidemic, which has so far limited the progression of the virus by identifying contact cases of infected persons as quickly as possible.

Wednesday April 22: 326 confirmed cases # COVID19 in Mayotte.

✅ 125 patients healed (figure not updated for 48 hours)
20 patients currently hospitalized at the CHM, including 4 in the intensive care unit
-> 4 deaths are to be deplored

Some of the clusters (grouping of cases) identified and regularly monitored by the teams of Public Health France and the ARS, are today considered as "extinct". A significant number of cases had drawn attention to the Mayotte Hospital Center. Most of them are healed today. Thanks to meticulous work carried out at the CHM, the medical sector has very few new cases.

Every day, contact tracing teams (who patiently identify contacts of positive cases, serious or not) follow the trail of possible new areas of circulation of the virus.

The epidemic continues to spread in Mayotte. The island of perfumes has 21 new confirmed cases of covid-19 coronavirus this Sunday, or 401 cases in total. To date, 144 patients have been cured, 31 are currently hospitalized at the CHM, including 4 in the intensive care unit. Since the start of the epidemic in Mayotte, 4 deaths have been reported.

Since the introduction of the virus in Mayotte, more than 2,500 tests have been carried out by the CHM laboratory. ARS and Sant? Publique France systematically call each person affected by the coronavirus on the phone, to answer any questions, provide useful advice and identify "contact cases". "These surveys are essential to identify as soon as possible the people who, in the family, friendly or professional circle, can be carriers of the virus. Identifying the people who can be carriers of the virus makes it possible to give them health advice and especially protect - before they are affected in turn, with sometimes serious consequences - the fragile people around them ", specifies the prefecture of Mayotte.

However, too many people refuse to answer these surveys "because they do not feel sick, because they are afraid of being singled out, because they do not want to say that they have not not fully respected barrier gestures ". The ARS of Mayotte reminds that the investigators are bound to professional discretion, and invites everyone to contribute constructively to the fight against the epidemic spread of the virus.

Who are the people most at risk?
Some people are more at risk of developing serious forms of COVID-19:
                          - people aged 65 and over,
                          - patients with a cardiac or respiratory history
                          - people with diabetes
                          - patients with chronic renal failure on dialysis
                          - cancer patients under treatment
                          - obese people

But in absolute terms, everyone is likely to get coronavirus. Even if there are no signs (fever, cough, difficulty breathing), you can still carry the virus and pass it on to loved ones. It is therefore an individual and collective responsibility to stay at home, to limit your movements and to apply daily barrier gestures to protect yourself and others.

It is the only solution to reduce the daily number of new cases every day in Mayotte. I have symptoms that make me think of COVID (fever, cough, difficulty breathing, loss of smell and taste): where can I get the test prescribed? Where can I get tested? Are you being followed by a liberal doctor? Contact him by phone describing your symptoms. Depending on the case, he will offer you a consultation (at his office or by teleconsultation) and issue you a prescription. Then you just have to go to the laboratory to have your sample taken.

To avoid infecting other people, do not go directly to the doctor's office. You don't know a doctor? Go to the nearest medical reference center (Mramadoudou, Kahani, Dzoumogn?, Dzaoudzi, Urgences du CHM); a covid network has been set up there and you will be taken care of upon your arrival. Pending the outcome, you must limit contact with those around you as much as possible, wear a mask and isolate yourself at home.
