POSTED BY COURTNEY LAMDIN ON TUE, MAR 24, 2020 AT 2:09 PM

The Vermont Department of Health on Tuesday announced 20 additional cases of COVID-19 and two more deaths, including another patient at the Burlington Health & Rehabilitation Center.

That brings the death toll at the Pearl Street nursing home to five and the state's total to seven. The second death reported Tuesday was "one of the first positives" in Vermont, according to health department spokesperson Ben Truman.

Tuesday's numbers bring the state's coronavirus case count to 95.

(WCAX) Residents in 104 apartments at a senior housing complex have been warned that a staffer tested positive for COVID-19, and to be on the look-out for signs and symptoms in case it's spread. Family members of residents living there say the staffer with COVID-19 was interacting with others at Pinecrest in common areas within days of the diagnosis, and was visibly sick.
