    KNOX COUNTY – Officials have confirmed another positive COVID-19 case in Nebraska, this one in Knox County.

    On Tuesday, March 17th North Central District Health Department was made aware of a positive COVID-19 case in Knox County.

    The person is a man in his 30s and a resident in Knox county. He recently traveled to another state where there is community transmission of COVID-19, officials said.

    He is self-isolating at home.

    According to health officials, at this time, the only known community exposure times, which is low risk, related to the case are the following are:

    • Sunday, March 15th from 9:30 AM-11:30 AM at Country Market in Bloomfield, NE

    • Saturday, March 14th from 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM at Dollar General in Hooper, NE

    This marks the 22nd positive case in Nebraska and the fourth confirmation in the last two days. The other three were in Douglas County.

    There have been 19 confirmed in Douglas County, two in Knox County, and one in Cass County.

                  LINCOLN, Neb. - Additional cases of COVID-19 have been identified in several Nebraska counties:

                  New cases include:

                  -A man and a woman in their 60s who are Washington County residents. They recently traveled and are self-isolating at home.

                  -A woman in her 30s from Madison County who is self-isolating at home - https://elvphd.org/.

                  -Three cases in Sarpy and one in Cass - https://www.sarpycasshealthdepartment.org/.

                  -Four cases in Douglas County.

                  Contact investigations are underway to identify people who came into close contact to help prevent further spread continue. All identified close contacts will self-quarantine and be actively monitored twice daily by public health officials for fever and respiratory symptoms.

                  According to 10/11 NOW's record of the combined data between DHHS and local health departments, there are 62 positive COVID-19 cases and four suspected positive cases. The suspected positives include a student at Doane, a person in Beatrice, and two students at the University of Nebraska-Kearney, all of whom exhibit COVID-19 symptoms, but will not be tested and are in self-isolation...

                                ...Ralph Marasco, a longtime realtor in Omaha, died from what was initially thought to be heart disease, his son Nico Marasco wrote in a Facebook post, but was later determined to be the coronavirus.


                                Nico Marasco urged others who may have had contact with his dad to follow Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines and self-quarantine for 14 days.


                                The state announced its first two confirmed deaths from COVID-19 on Friday. In Hall County, a woman described as being in her 60s with underlying health conditions, became Nebraska's second death in the global pandemic, health officials said....
