HONOLULU, Hawaii (HawaiiNewsNow) - A Hawaii resident who traveled on a cruise ship that’s been linked to more than two dozen coronavirus cases has tested positive for the virus, the governor said.
Gov. David Ige said the resident traveled on the Grand Princess in early February and returned home to the islands. The person subsequently sought medical care and was tested.
“We do not believe there is community spread of this virus at this time,” Ige said.
The patient contracted the virus on the Grand Princess, which has been linked to a widening cluster of coronavirus.
Also worrisome: That same vessel made four ports of call in Hawaii on a subsequent voyage.
