      First Monterey County death due to coronavirus announced

      Monterey County saw its first death related to COVID-19 on Saturday, the county health department reported.

      Monterey County Health Department officials announced the death in a news release.

      The adult was hospitalized and had an underlying health condition that predisposed her or him to having more severe disease, the release said.

      No additional information about this individual was given in order to protect the family’s privacy, the news release said...
