In Sweden so far , until Wednesday morning, 355 people demonstrated infected by the virus that gives covid-19.
A woman in her 20s became the first confirmed Swedish case on January 31 of this year where someone has been infected by the new corona virus. She had visited China and made contact with the health care because of her symptoms. She is now considered to be clinically healthy.

STOCKHOLM, March 11. /TASS/. The number of confirmed coronavirus (COVID-19) cases in Sweden has reached 399, the SVT TV channel informed on Wednesday.
In the past 24 hours, 35 new coronavirus cases have been confirmed in the southern province of Skane. The number of those infected in the area has doubled: currently, there are 60 reported cases of coronavirus. The majority of those infected returned from Italy or were in direct contact with the people who contracted the virus in Italy.
In Stockholm, the number of those infected has reached 207, while 48 cases have been recorded in the Vastra Gataland County and 22 cases have been reported in the Varmland County.

In the afternoon of March 11, the first death in Sweden was reported. This applies to an elderly person with underlying illness in Stockholm County.
According to the recommendation of the Public Health Authority at this time, only persons in need of care or who are already admitted to hospitals with coronavirus symptoms should be tested. This has a significant impact on the figures for the number of cases in Sweden. The following figures are thus an under-reporting of the actual number of cases and show only those that have been tested - not how many have the corona virus.
A second person has died in Sweden from the coronavirus. The 85 year-old woman died at Sahlgrenska Hospital in Gothenburg. The woman had been cared for in intensive care for some time and also had other diseases.

The Swedish parliament will cut the number of members present in the chamber from 349 to only 55. The decision has been agreed to by all parties, and means that from March 18th until the end of the month the parties will be represented by: 16 Social Democrat MPs, 11 Moderate MPs, 10 Sweden Democrat MPs, five Centre Party MPs, four Left Party MPs and three each for the Christian Democrats, Liberals and Greens.
The move is meant to ensure that parliament is able to continue to operate even if a large number of MPs were to fall ill. The decision currently applies until March 30th but can be extended. MPs not present during votes will still be working, but will perform their duties in other ways, said the speaker of parliament.

20 people have now died of the coronavirus in Sweden

A total of 1,746 people are now infected with the coronavirus in Sweden and 20 people have died, according to the latest public health statistics. At the same time, the number of people receiving intensive care is increasing.

While China, Italy, Western Europe, Iran and South Korea have generated the most headlines for the explosion in cases, Scandinavia — Sweden, Norway, Iceland and Denmark — is battling an unmatched surge. As of March 22, Iceland, with a population of 350,000, has recorded 568 cases; Norway, with a population of 5.3 million, has had 2,257 cases; Denmark, with a population of 5.6 million, has had 1,512 cases; and Sweden, with a population of 10 million, has had 1,934 cases. Together, the four countries, with a population of 21.3 million — that of Florida — had, as of Saturday, reported a total of 6,271 cases. That’s more than double America’s current per capita rate of infection, and three times that of China. If one compares individual countries, a citizen of Iceland has a 60 percent higher chance of contracting the virus than a counterpart from Italy, according to the latest rates.
