    Rawalpindi: At least eight Pakistani Army officers, including three Lieutenant Colonels, two Colonels, two Brigadiers, and one Major General, have been tested positive for the novel coronavirus on Friday at the General Army Headquarters here.

    Pakistan Ministry of Health Services tweeted the update: “Routine check-up in GHQ Rawalpindi by #COVID19 investigation team has found that 3 Lt.colonel, 2 Colonel, 2 Brigadier, 1 Maj.general has been tested positive for coronavirus. #CoronavirusPandemic.” With this, Pakistan’s total tally of confirmed cases stands at 28 now...

        Fresh cases of the deadly coronavirus continue to surface from different parts of Pakistan as the number has soared to 34 within a span a few days.

        The latest case of Covid-19 has been reported from the capital Islamabad where the husband of an infected woman has also tested positive for the virus.

        The couple travelled to Pakistan recently from the United States and tested positive for coronavirus on Saturday. The wife is in a critical condition and has been on the ventilator in Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) hospital in Islamabad...

            Islamabad, Pakistan - Pakistan has recorded its biggest single-day spike in coronavirus infections, taking the tally to 107, amid reports of ineffective quarantine procedures as 61 of those are reported to be among those who had been held at a quarantine camp at the country's Taftan border crossing with Iran.

            No deaths due to the coronavirus have been recorded, according to government data..

              Lahore: Pakistan reported its first casualty due to the novel coronavirus on Tuesday, health ministry officials said as the number of positive cases of the COVID-19 infections rose to 193 in the country.

              The first fatality was reported from Lahore. Meanwhile, Sindh has 155 positive cases, followed by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa with 15, Balochistan 10, Gilgit-Baltistan 5, Islamabad 2 and Punjab 6, officials said....

                Islamabad: The quantity of confirmed coronavirus scenarios in Pakistan sharply rose to 212 on Tuesday, amidst conflicting statements by authorities on the nation’s very first casualty owing to the viral infection.

                The Sindh province is the worst-hit with 172 cases, adopted by 15 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 10 in Balochistan, 8 in Punjab, 5 in Gilgit-Baltistan and 2 in Islamabad, officers claimed.

                According to Meeran Yousuf, media coordinator to the Sindh health minister, the overall variety of COVID-19 conditions rose to 172 in Sindh province on Tuesday. Of the 172 patients, 134 are in Sukkar, 37 in Karachi and one in Hyderabad metropolis...

                            Pakistan on Sunday shut down markets and public places in several major cities of the country amid the coronavirus outbreak.

                            The number of coronavirus cases in the country also jumped to 629.

                            According to the provincial governments of Northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Punjab, and Balochistan, the public have been advised to remain at home and avoid social gatherings.
                            "In view of experts’ advice regarding social distancing being a primary preventive method and avoiding public contact, all markets, shopping malls, and restaurants shall remain closed with effect from Sunday morning till Tuesday morning," the KP government said in a statement.

                            The provincial government also declared an emergency and suspended all inter-district passenger public transport for seven days starting on Monday, the statement added.

                            On Saturday, Punjab's Chief Minister Usman Buzdar also announced a lockdown in the province from Saturday night till Tuesday morning.

                            "The only security we have is our ability to adapt."

                                With over 150 new coronavirus cases confirmed in the last 24 hours, the number of COVID-19 patients in Pakistan reached 803, officials said on Monday.

                                The death toll in the country also jumped to six after a doctor lost his life in the northern Gilgit-Baltistan region.

                                According to Federal Health Ministry, the number of confirmed coronavirus cases in southern Sindh province rose to 352, Punjab province to 225, in northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province to 31, western Balochistan province 108, Gilgit-Baltistan 71, the capital's Islamabad 15 while one case confirmed in Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

                                Most of the new patients had recently returned from neighboring Iran.

                                So far, six patients have successfully recovered and discharged from the hospital, the ministry said.

                                Usama Riaz, a young doctor who treated coronavirus patients in Gilgit-Baltistan hospital, has died, raising the number of deaths in the country to six...
