      Another two people have sadly died due to Coronavirus in Northern Ireland.

      The death toll from Covid-19 has now risen to 554, according to the Department of Health's latest figures.

      There are currently 11 patients in hospital and none are in intensive care.

      A total of 1,477 people have been discharged from hospital after testing positive for the virus.

                The latest statistics also reveal that the total number of people to have tested positive in NI stands at 5,868.

                According to the dashboard 76 people have tested positive for COVID-19 in the last seven days.

                No further deaths have been reported - leaving the death toll at 556.

                        There have been 48 new positive cases of Covid-19 in the past 24 hours and a rise in hospital admissions according to the Department of Health.

                        Its daily dashboard has said that there have been no further deaths, with 557 people having passed away due to the coronavirus.

                        194 people have been diagnosed with Covid-19 in the past seven days.

                        Nine more people have been admitted to hospital with the virus and two people are currently in intensive care. 1,537 people have been admitted to hospital with Covid-19 and 1,512 have been discharged.

                            The daily update revealed there have been 85 new cases in the past 24 hours, taking the total number to 7,049.

                            The Department of Health figures also show there have been 15 outbreaks of the virus in care homes.

                            There are 17 people in hospital with Covid-19, with two patients in an intensive care unit.

                            Meanwhile, three gyms in Lurgan have closed due to positive tests from either customers or staff.

                              Health Minister Robin Swann has announced he will establish a second Nightingale Hospital in Northern Ireland in time for winter.

                              Mr Swann said the facility at Whiteabbey Hospital would provide an extra 100 beds and would relieve pressure on the health service as it faces the "toughest winter in its history"

                                There have now been 7,365 positive cases in NI since the outbreak. The death toll is 562.

                                There are currently 20 patients in hospitals with the virus, with three in intensive care.

                              In total 8,123 people have tested positive for the virus since the pandemic began. On Thursday 8,142 tests were carried out on 4,691 people.

                              Over the past seven days 577 new cases of Covid-19 have been confirmed, with 174 in the Belfast council area and 76 in Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon.

                              There are currently 17 Covid-19 inpatients in Northern Ireland's hospitals, with 1 in an intensive care unit

                              It comes as SDLP MLA Justin McNulty expressed concern after reports of positive Covid-19 cases among medical staff at Daisy Hill Hospital.

                              The Newry and Armagh MLA said he had been contacted by staff within the Newry hospital and advised that two members of a medical team within a ward had tested positive for Covid-19.

                              Mr McNulty said the staff members involved were now off work and self isolating.

                              It follows three separate outbreaks of the virus at Craigavon Area Hospital.
