There have been six coronavirus deaths recorded in Northern Ireland in the last 24 hours, the Department of Health has confirmed.

The daily figure published for Monday shows that the total death toll in Northern Ireland is now 482.

            individuals tested positive for Covid-19

There are currently 651 people hospitalised with coronavirus and 104 care home outbreaks, recorded on the department’s dashboard breakdown.

Close to 50,000 tests have been carried out for Covid-19 in the region to date.

On Monday the Health Minister announced a roll-out of testing to be made available to all care home residents and staff.

The daily figure of deaths published by the Department of Health is mainly comprised of deaths in hospitals.

The NISRA figures released last Friday for the period until 8 May recorded 599 total deaths, 294 took place in hospital and 269 in care homes, which was almost 45% of all deaths due to Covid-19.
