    NZ announces new virus case after 'Covid' election

    New Zealand confirmed a new community case of Covid-19 on Sunday, two weeks after Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern declared that the South Pacific nation had "beat the virus again".

    Director-General of Health Ashley Bloomfield said the latest case involved a port-side worker who returned a positive test on Saturday afternoon.

    "Because the person was tested on the day he was developing symptoms, the Ministry of Health was able to self-isolate close contacts," Bloomfield said.

    * The 56-year-old woman tested positive after she departed the Pullman Hotel managed isolation facility in Auckland.
    * She tested negative twice during her stay and was released. The origin and strain of the infection is unknown.
    * She travelled to New Zealand via London and Singapore.
    * Four close contacts have been identified. There are 28 locations linked to her movements.
