Nepal reported its fifth Covid-19 case on Saturday.
According to Dr Bikas Devkota, spokesperson for the Ministry of Health and Population, Covid-19 was confirmed in a 19-year-old woman who had recently returned from Belgium.
“This case is also from outside the Valley,” said Devkota. “We are gathering details about the patient, who is currently receiving medical care. Her health condition is normal.”

Darchula, Nepal - Ramesh Sista decided he would rather drown than die of hunger in India. The 29-year-old Nepali man managed to swim across the Mahakali river, which acts as a natural border between the two countries.
"You can take me anywhere from here. Hundreds like me are stranded on the other side, sleeping like animals on the ground. This country needs to save them," Bista said on Tuesday, as he was dragged away by the Nepali police in Darchula.

Nepal’s two Covid-19 patients test positive for coronavirus in second tests

Two of four active coronavirus infected people of the country have tested positive for the virus in their second tests, according to the Shukraraj Tropical and Infectious Disease Hospital in Kathmandu.
The 19-year-old lady from Kathmandu, who had recently returned from France, and the 32-year-old man from Dhading, who had recently returned from the United Arab Emirates, are currently undergoing treatment at the hospital.
With both the people testing positive for the second time, their stay in the hospital apparently lingers. If the second reports had come negative, the hospital could have discharged them this week...

The first case of local transmission of COVID-19 has been reported in the country.
With this, the total number of confirmed cases has reached nine across the country, of which four are from Sudurpaschim Province.
Ministry of Health and Population today confirmed three new cases of coronavirus infection.
The infection was seen in two persons who recently returned from India, while the third one contracted the infection from a previously infected person.
A 21-year-old male, a resident of Lamkichuha Municipality in Kailali, who had recently returned from Mumbai and a 41-year-old male, a resident of Bedkot, Kanchanpur, who had returned from Uttarakhand of India tested positive for COVID-19...

Two of a family in Kathmandu test positive for coronavirus; Nepal’s tally hits 16

Nepal’s health officials have reported two more coronavirus positive cases in the country’s capital on Tuesday. With this, the number of positive cases in the country has reached 16.
Earlier on Monday, three persons of the family residing at Sun City Apartments in Kageshwari Manohara of the capital had tested positive in the rapid diagnostic tests (RDT). Because the RDT results are not considered valid globally, the authorities had collected their swab samples for the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) tests.
While the two of them tested positive in the PCR tests also.
The family of a woman, her son, and daughter-in-law had come to Kathmandu from the United Kingdom around one month ago. Of them, the 81-year-old woman and her 58-year-old son tested positive for the virus.
They are being treated at Patan Hospital of Kathmandu.
