Greek government expert and spokesman Sotiris Tsiodras on Monday confirmed that the death toll from Covid-19 in Greece has risen to 43 at regular press briefing on Monday, adding that new reported infections came to 56, down from Sunday’s 95.
The total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Greece stood at 1,212 on Monday, the expert said, adding that 72 people are intubated or in intensive care.

Greece, which reported its first coronavirus case at the end of February, has reported 1,314 cases so far. In total, 49 people have died.
Doctors at Greece’s public health agency conducted tests on 383 crew members of a passenger ship anchored off Piraeus, near Athens and 20 tested positive, health ministry officials said.

Since the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic, medical personnel, human rights groups and others have warned of catastrophe if COVID-19 spreads to the roughly 60,000 refugees living in often-squalid camps in Greece.
Now the virus has arrived. This week, at least 20 refugees living in the Ritsona camp, near Athens, have tested positive for COVID-19. The camp is now on lockdown for the next two weeks...

ATHENS – The Health Ministry’s coronavirus spokesman and infectious diseases professor Sotiris Tsiodras on Thursday evening announced 27 new confirmed cases of Covid-19 in Greece in the last 24 hours, and 3 new deaths.
He did however elaborate that the final figure of infections includes 23 infections at the Ritsona hotspot and another 49 infections onboard the Eleftherios Venizelos ferry which is anchored off the port of Piraeus.
Therefore the Covid-19 infections total in Greece stands at a provisional 1,514 which may change by day’s end, as new data kept coming in before the briefing, he noted..

Officials in Greece on Sunday placed a second migrant camp near Athens under lockdown after an Afghan man tested positive for the coronavirus, the migration ministry said.
Officials said the camp in Malakasa, some 38km northeast of the capital, had been placed under "full sanitary isolation" for 14 days, with no one allowed to enter or leave.
Police guarding the site would be reinforced to ensure the restrictions are implemented, the ministry said...
...Greece recorded its first case of the new coronavirus at the end of February. Since then, it has confirmed 1,673 cases of Covid-19 and 68 deaths...
Greece's Health Ministry announced on Monday 20 new coronavirus infections, with the total now at 1,755.
In his regular press conference, ministry spokesman and infectious disease expert Sotiris Tsiodras said six more fatalities from Covid-19 were recorded over the past 24 hours raising the total to 79.

Friday Report: Greek Coronavirus Cases Reach 2,011, 56 New, 4 Deaths

ATHENS – The Health Ministry’s coronavirus spokesman and infectious diseases professor Sotiris Tsiodras on Friday evening announced 56 new confirmed cases of Covid-19 in Greece in the last 24 hours, and 4 new deaths.
The Covid-19 infections total in Greece stands at 2,011. Of these, 525 were infected abroad and 776 in Greece.
Deaths total 90 since the start of the outbreak, of whom 89 pct had underlying health issues or their average age was 70 or over...
Three more coronavirus patients have died since the last government briefing Saturday afternoon, raising total fatalities to 96.
According to sources, the three were men, two treateed at an Athens hospital and the third in Thessaloniki.
As of Saturday afternoon, the number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Greece was 2,081. Updated figures will be announced, as usual, at 6 p.m. local, with a statement, not a press briefing.
