MORE than 1,000 Scots have died of coronavirus - after 77 tragically passed away overnight.

Nicola Sturgeon confirmed the tragic figures in her daily press conference today.

There are now a total of 9,038 positive cases of Covid-19 in Scotland, an increase of 366.

The First Minister also revealed that 384 care homes have a virus outbreak with at least one resident showing symptoms.
And the weekly National Records of Scotland announcement showed coronavirus has been listed on the death certificate of 1,616 Scots.
