Quito, Aug 3 (EFE) .- The number of positives for COVID-19 in Ecuador amounted to 87,041 this Monday, 517 new cases compared to the previous day, while the official deaths reached 5,767, with 17 additional.
This was reported in its daily part by the Ministry of Health, which also mentions 3,512 probable deaths from coronavirus.
According to the official bulletin, since the first contagion was detected on February 29, 247,583 samples have been taken for COVID-19, between rapid tests and PCR in Ecuador, inhabited by more than 17 million people.
With these tests, 119,867 cases were discarded, while 11,577 were discharged from hospital.

The measure allowed to go from mass isolation to physical distancing, amid a state of emergency decreed by President Len?n Moreno on March 16 and which has been extended on several occasions.
Last week, the national Emergency Operations Committee (EOC) issued 16 mandatory regulations for the entire country, regardless of the color of the traffic light, in order to contain COVID-19 infections.
