Quito [EFE]. The Government of Ecuador reported on Friday that the number of deaths from coronavirus in the country has risen to seven and that there are 426 patients who have tested positive for COVID-19, which is 16 percent more than the day before.
The Secretary of Risk Management, Alexandra Ocles, indicated in a virtual press conference that in the last few hours two people died, both men, the first one was 61 years old and that it corresponded to a so-called "imported case", as he contracted the illness abroad before returning to the country.
The other deceased is a 48-year-old person who was in asylum in an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) under permanent medical surveillance.
In addition, Ocles explained that there are 711 people "suspected" of having contracted the coronavirus and that 1,213 have been placed in an epidemiological fence for having been in the close circle of people infected with the virus.
He stressed that three people have recovered and that the province with the most infected with COVID-19 is the coastal of Guayas, whose capital is Guayaquil, with 318 cases, followed by Pichincha (35), Los R?os (19), Azuay (18 ), Manab?
