..After China was attacked both inside and outside of Wuhan pneumonia and the U.S.-China trade war, it seemed that it could no longer insist on a tough stance on the United States. The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of the People's Republic of China announced today (17) that the authorities have approved the import of all poultry products from the United States...https://ec.ltn.com.tw/article/breakingnews/3070468

The new crown pneumonia epidemic has severely affected the supply of mainland biological resources. In order to meet the demand for meat on the mainland, the Chinese General Administration of Customs and the Ministry of Agriculture jointly announced on the 16th that they will lift restrictions on the import of poultry and poultry products in the United States. This is also a further expansion to US poultry products after the Chinese side announced on November 14, 2019 that it will lift US poultry meat imports.https://twitter.com/Lu_Jinghua/statu...68404076367873

China stifles foreign internet to control coronavirus coverage
Government attacks on VPN services make it more difficult to access restricted sites
Yuan Yang in Beijing an hour ago

Beijing is tightening access to the uncensored global internet, while carefully controlling its domestic news reports, to increase its grip on the media narrative around the coronavirus epidemic.

China’s most popular VPN services, which allow foreign businesses and locals to circumvent internet censorship, have faced an onslaught of government attacks in recent weeks. As a result, some users are finding it more difficult to access censored websites, such as Google, Twitter, and most foreign newspapers...

....Incubation period up to 94 days? Experts clarify what is wrong

Henan province added 15 confirmed cases yesterday, including the situation of 2 confirmed cases in Xinyang County. The report stated that the two confirmed cases had a long incubation time, the source of infection was not clear, the diagnosis was difficult, and they were highly contagious. According to the relevant situation, the local residents are required to have a residence history, travel history, and contact history in Hubei (Wuhan), and the home observation period for 14 days will be extended for another 7 days.

The report stated that one of the patients diagnosed with Wu had three consecutive nucleic acid tests, and the first two were negative. The hospital stayed on January 28 until the diagnosis was confirmed, which lasted for 19 days. On January 14, the patient returned from Wuhan to Xinxian until the diagnosis was made, which took 34 days. After the patient returned to Xinxian, he attended family dinners twice, and 10 people attended. Two of them were diagnosed, and three were confirmed as suspected cases or hospitalized for observation.

Another confirmed Ning surname has been living in his father-in-law's house at Baiguoshu Neighborhood Committee of Jinlanshan Street, Xin County since November 13, 2019, and took care of his father-in-law Zhang who returned from medical treatment in Wuhan. After Zhang died on November 30, Ning continued to stay in his home. Until January 31, 2020, he and his wife and son returned to the family home of the Chendian Township Government Office opposite the county vocational school. After that, Ning xx went out twice to buy food and once to go out to buy medicine, and no other outing activities. On February 12, Ning XX developed fever symptoms. On the 14th, he went to the county people's hospital for treatment and then was hospitalized for observation.Ning xx took care of her father-in-law until the diagnosis was made, and it lasted for 94 days. After tracking its infection trajectory, the source of the infection is still difficult to determine.

However, Zhang Guojun, the leader of the Henan Province expert team who assisted Xinyang and the chief physician of the Department of Respiratory and Critical Care at Zheng Dayi Affiliated Hospital, said that after carefully checking the trajectory and onset time of the confirmed patients, the above two cases are ordinary cases. Regarding the case of Wu's patient, Zhang Guojun believed that Wu returned from Wuhan on January 14 and developed fever symptoms on the 25th. He stayed until the diagnosis was confirmed on the 28th. The incubation time was normal. As for the negative results of two nucleic acid tests, he said: "The diagnosis was confirmed only after the third nucleic acid test. This has something to do with the materials, reagents, and delivery time, which are often found nationwide."

In the case of Ning's patient, Zhang Guojun pointed out that although the source of the infection has not been determined, Ning's infection is not directly related to his father-in-law. It is understood that at present Ning's wife and son are not infected. He also pointed out that there were 4 confirmed cases in Xinxian for the first time on January 31, and Ning returned to the county on January 31 and developed fever on February 12, in line with the epidemiological rules of pneumonia in Wuhan. Trajectory, Ning is quite likely to be infected during going out.

Regarding cases that took 34 days to return to Wuhan from diagnosis to diagnosis, the mainland indicated that the incubation period had been extended. Hong Kong specialist in infection and infectious diseases, Zeng Qiyin, did not think it was necessary. He analyzed to "Apple" that the official announcement was not clear, there was no announcement of when the patient developed symptoms, and the source of his infection was not necessarily in Wuhan. However, he pointed out that patients from the time of admission to the full 19 days may indeed be extreme cases.

Coronavirus: the median age of infection lowered to 44 years
By Coralie Lemke on 02.17.2020 at 5.13 p.m.

A study on patients with the Covid-19 coronavirus allows a better understanding of the profile of the patients as well as the aggravating factors of the disease.

As the weeks go by, knowledge of the Covid-19 coronavirus that has hit China since December 2019 is becoming clearer. Several research teams are trying to better understand how the virus behaves and what its characteristics are. New work, conducted by the State Key Laboratory of Respiratory Disease in Guangzhoun, in partnership with several hospitals in the city of Wuhan, where the epidemic has exploded, has just been shared on Medrxiv, a site for scientific publications whose articles have not been reread by a scientific committee (as is the case in conventional journals.) However, this work sheds light on the symptoms and aggravating factors around the coronavirus.

Coronavirus patients, weakened by other pathologies

Carried out on a sample of 1099 patients in whom the presence of the virus has been confirmed by DNA analysis, they allow a better understanding of the profile of the patients treated. Those in critical condition present several factors which seem to worsen their pathology, such as hypertension in 23.7% of cases, then diabetes, which concerns 16.2% of the most serious cases.

Other factors could come into play, such as smoking. Of course, 85.6% of infected patients are non-smokers. But there are more severe cases among smokers (16.9%), while smokers are slightly less (11.8%) with a less severe form of the disease. Earlier this year, a team of Chinese researchers published a study on the profile of infected people in the specialized journal The Lancet. The study involved only 99 patients, but in about half of the cases (50 patients), coronavirus infection occurred in people who already had an underlying pathology, such as cardiovascular disease (40) and diabetes (12).
Median age of coronavirus patients set at 47

The median age of patients in this study is 47 years, compared to 55.5 years mentioned in the previous study published in the Lancet. The proportion of women and men is also slightly different. Women represent 41.8% of patients, while the study published by The Lancet included around 23%. Very different figures which can be explained by the fact that the previous study published in the Lancet only concerned a sample of 99 people, compared to 1099 for the study published in Medrxiv. The latter fixes the median incubation period is 3 days. It is established in a time ranging from 2 to 14 days.

The new study published in Medrxiv also confirms the symptoms that had already been described in previous official publications. This new work describes three major symptoms of COVID-19 coronavirus: body temperature above 38 degrees (87.9% of patients), coughing fits (67.7%), and severe fatigue (38.1%) . However, "this study shows that fever was only present in 43.8% of patients with the coronavirus at the time of their management, while it rose to 87.9% during hospitalization."

The exams also show leukopenia, an abnormal drop in the number of white blood cells in 82.1% of patients and a lung condition detectable on CT in only 76.4% of patients. "Many patients present without symptoms of fever but with abnormalities on the pulmonary scanner. Very few of them have diarrhea," conclude the researchers.
Fever and cough in the majority of patients

The older Lancet study mentioned that all patients admitted to hospital had pneumonia. Most of them (74 out of 99 patients) had both lungs infected. The majority (82 patients) had fever, cough (81 patients) and a third were short of breath (31 patients). Five severely ill patients co-infected with bacteria (1 person) and fungi (4).

On the treatment side, among the 1099 patients studied, 57.5% receive antibiotics intravenously, 35.8% have antiviral treatment by oral route and 18.6% of corticosteroids. In all, severe cases represent 18.17% of the patients observed in this work. Out of 1099 patients, 55 were able to return home, cured. Of the 99 patients seen in The Lancet, most received antivirals - 75 patients, combined with antibiotics (70) and oxygen therapy (75), which involves supplementing the patient with oxygen.

(Combat New Crown Pneumonia) CDC Report: More than 3,000 medical staff infected with New Crown Pneumonia

China News Service, Beijing, February 17th. According to the results of a new crown pneumonia study published by the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention on the 17th, the national report data as of February 11th showed that there are 422 medical institutions providing diagnosis and treatment services for patients with new crown pneumonia. Among them, a total of 3019 medical staff were infected with the new coronavirus, and 1,716 confirmed cases, of which 5 were sacrificed.

In the latest issue of the Chinese Journal of Epidemiology, the Epidemiology Group of the New Coronary Virus Pneumonia Emergency Response Mechanism of the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention released a new report of coronary pneumonia. The epidemiological characteristics of more than 70,000 cases were described and analyzed.

The report shows that as of February 11, 72,314 cases were reported. Among them, 44672 cases were confirmed (61.8%).

Among the 422 medical institutions providing diagnosis and treatment services for patients with new coronary pneumonia, a total of 3019 medical staff were infected with the new coronavirus (including confirmed cases, suspected cases, clinically diagnosed cases and asymptomatic infections, of which 1,716 confirmed cases), of which Five people died. There may be infections from non-occupational exposures. The peak period for medical staff cases may occur on January 28.

An analysis of 1688 confirmed cases with severe severity was performed in 1080 cases (64.0%) in Wuhan, 394 cases (23.3%) in Hubei other than Wuhan, and 30 provinces in the country except Hubei (Districts and cities) 214 cases (12.7%).

The severe illness rate of medical staff was 17.7% in Wuhan, 10.4% in Hubei (except Wuhan), and 7.0% in the country (except Hubei). According to different time periods, the severe illness rate of Wuhan medical staff gradually decreased from 38.9% at its peak to 12.7% in early February.

Of the 1,688 confirmed cases by medical staff, most cases were mild patients (85.4%), and the mortality was lower than other cases. The main reason is related to age. Medical staff are all working staff, generally under 60 years old, and deaths mainly occur in patients over 60 years old.

The report mentions that, as of now, there is no evidence that a "super communicator" incident has occurred in any of the medical institutions serving patients with the new coronavirus pneumonia.

The report reminds that serious medical staff infections have occurred in some areas of Wuhan and Hubei, but the specific causes of medical staff infections and protection failures have yet to be investigated further. (Finish)

WHO China Coronavirus Visit Won't Include Hubei and Wuhan

China has finally agreed to allow experts from the World Health Organization (WHO) into China to get a closer look at the coronavirus (Covid-19) outbreak. Unfortunately, the WHO experts are not being allowed into the Hubei province, which is where the largest number of cases can be found.

The large city of Wuhan in Hubei is considered to be the epicenter of the outbreak. The outbreak was initially linked to a seafood market in Hubei. By not allowing the WHO to visit the epicenter it will limit the information they can obtain and add fuel to bioweapon conspiracy theories.

An article on China's Global Times website says Hubei is too busy combating the virus to receive the experts. The article says, "The epidemic-stricken Hubei is not..

Rumors: Recently, there are rumors that Hubei-made rice may contain a new type of coronavirus and cannot eat Hubei-made rice.

The truth: Rice is not the host of the virus. Even if a virus falls on it, it cannot replicate and multiply, and can only lose vitality during storage.

                                Is the new coronavirus "artificial"?

Rumor: Two weeks ago, Indian researchers published a genetics paper claiming that unusual insertions were found in the virus (spike protein) that affects China, some similar to HIV. The article argues that these mutations cannot occur naturally, but are artificially inserted in the laboratory. The paper was subsequently withdrawn by the Archives of Biological Papers.

The truth: British media reported that scientists said there was no evidence that the new coronavirus found in China was made by humans. They lashed out at the "bad" research that sent that hint.

"You look at it and know that there is no evidence of genetic engineering at all. (Viral) Mutation is in full compliance with the laws of natural evolution. "

It is a rumor. The general public is not allowed to believe or spread the rumor.

Rumors: An infant from Xuancheng, Anhui, was confirmed online as a confirmed case of neo-pneumococcal pneumonia in Shanghai, but there were no Anhui cases among the cases released in Shanghai.

Truth: @ 健康 上海 12320 released the news on the 15th that after being checked by the Shanghai Municipal Health and Health Commission Notification Committee, the case was found when it entered Shanghai through the Qingpu crossing and was admitted directly to the hospital and confirmed. Because it is a permanent resident of Shanghai, Jiading has been included in the information released on the 13th.

Rumor: Recently, during the epidemic, the news that Hubei Charity Federation received 150 sets of protective clothing for personal use was widely spread.

Truth: Hubei Provincial Charity Federation personally cleared the rumor: The material was donated to the Association by the Istanbul Chinese Enterprises Association, and the Association has in accordance with its intention of donation on the same day, all transferred to the Union Hospital of Tongji Medical College of Huazhong University of Science and Technology. I will provide a material receipt.

Rumors: There are recent rumors that personnel returning from other provinces (cities) to Zhuzhou require forcible isolation at the hotel for 14 days and need to pay 299 yuan / day by themselves.

Truth: The office of the New Crown Pneumonia Prevention and Control Group in Hetang District, Zhuzhou City hereby explains that to date, all the personnel who have been centrally isolated as required by Hetang District have been borne by the district government. Notice. At present, no individual has paid for centralized quarantine and nucleic acid testing.

Rumor: The main manifestations of pneumococcal infection with neocoronavirus are fever, fatigue, and dry cough, so fever is infected with neocoronavirus.

Truth: Fever does not necessarily mean infection with the new crown virus. If you have not been exposed to a suspected source of infection, you can follow up at home with a short-term (less than 3 days) mild fever.

Rumor: Recently, there is such a saying on the Internet: loved ones, stop wearing invisible eyes, it will increase the chance of contracting the new crown virus. Recently, even Weishang has started selling frames.

Truth: There is currently no evidence that contact lenses increase the risk of new crown pneumonia infection. As far as is currently known, the main route of transmission of neocoronary pneumonia is droplet transmission and contact transmission.

Rumor: Recently, a WeChat group of Internet users in Jilin City rumored that there was a female college student from Wuhan coming back from Longtan Street to hide their situation. He had fever on January 26 and repeatedly used other people's ID cards to go to the hospital. He is now isolated in a chemical hospital.

Truth: "Today in the hospital, I saw someone reposting false rumors on WeChat. My friends and classmates in Jilin received the news in different groups. Now it has seriously affected the lives of my family, my boyfriend and his family. "

A netizen named "Cutter Cutting" said that she was the party mentioned in this rumor. She was a second-year graduate student of Wuhan University and was named Cheng Jiaqi. She returned to Jilin City on January 23 and had a low fever on the 26th. She went to the Jilin Central Hospital for treatment.

After examination, pneumonia was ruled out. She went to the chemical hospital for a low fever three days ago. The doctor kept her in Wuhan for observation because she had a history of living in Wuhan. Both nucleic acid tests were negative during this period, and the CT and blood routine tests of both lung films were normal.

Rumor: On the 15th, a message was circulating on the Internet: "The First Hospital of Wuhan City was requisitioned as a whole, and more than 1,600 people in ten medical teams in six provinces have been stationed. The vegetable rice in the hospital cafeteria is not enough. Please donate rice noodles, oil, vegetables, poultry and eggs ... "

Truth: Officials from Wuhan First Hospital rumored that the news was untrue. At present, the hospital's reception coordination work is carried out in an orderly manner, and the daily dietary supplies required by medical staff are not in short supply. If there is demand, the hospital will announce it in a timely manner through the hospital's official website and official micro platforms.

Rumors: On February 16th, netizens released the news that the girl who "chased the funeral car and cried to her mother" died.

Truth: At about 10 pm on February 2nd, in front of the emergency department building of Hubei Provincial Hospital of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine, a video of a little girl "chasing a funeral car and crying to her mother" caused a lot of retweets on the Internet. It is reported that the girl's mother was a highly suspected case of neonatal pneumonia. She felt uncomfortable and went to the hospital that day. She died after rescue.

A person familiar with the matter told the Beijing News reporter that she had contacted the girl on the 16th, and she was in a good condition and was separated from her father's home. Please don't make rumors! Don't believe it! Don't rumor!

Rumor: Recently, in order to prevent virus invasion, some communities have set up disinfection houses and disinfection channels spraying disinfectant from top to bottom. They must be disinfected in a "shower" mode when entering the community. Many people worry that such disinfection methods will affect the underground Water quality.

The truth: Water quality professionals say that this "shower-style" disinfection will not affect water quality, so don't worry. At the same time, at the press conference of the Joint Prevention and Control Mechanism of the State Council held on the afternoon of February 13, Zhang Liubo, chief expert of disinfection at the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention, stated that "This kind of measure is unnecessary and does not cut off the way of transmission, and This approach is harmful because it is potentially harmful to the health of passing personnel and this should be avoided. "
The person in charge of water quality of Guangzhou Water Supply Company said: The main component of the chlorine-containing disinfectant is sodium hypochlorite, which is extremely unstable in chemical properties. In theory, when sodium hypochlorite is used in environmental disinfection, it is easily decomposed and it is unlikely to enter the water body. The current water quality in Guangzhou's water source area has not been polluted by residual chlorine caused by epidemic prevention and control.

Rumor: If you want to go out, wear anti-static clothing for better protection.

The truth: The materials in antistatic clothing include polymer fibers with antistatic effects, inorganic fibers (such as metal fibers, carbon fibers, etc.), and antistatic agents. Their main function is to prevent static electricity from accumulating on clothing. This is completely different from the medical protective clothing material used to isolate the new crown virus.

The material of medical protective clothing is mainly spunbond, meltblown, spunlace non-woven fabric, and the aperture is small, no matter it is bacteria, virus, or water, blood, alcohol and other liquids are difficult to penetrate. Many anti-static clothes have large apertures, which is no different from ordinary coats in protecting against new crown virus.

In the context of the current shortage of medical protective clothing, it is recommended that medical protective clothing be left to medical or high-risk staff. In some public places where no cases are found, one-piece raincoats or windproof and waterproof jackets can be used.

Rumors: Recently, it has been reported that indoor incense and agarwood can sterilize and detoxify and prevent new coronavirus.

Truth: Agarwood is a dry woody oily part of the white woody incense of the araceae plant. It is a kind of wood, spice, and Chinese medicine.

In vitro experiments, Agarwood has certain inhibitory effects on bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus, Bacillus subtilis, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and molds such as Penicillium and Aspergillus niger. However, no publicly available literature has been found to confirm that Agarwood can inhibit human coronavirus, and the existing data do not support "Agarwood can prevent new coronavirus".

Rumor: On the evening of February 15th, a picture named "Report on School Arrangements during School Epidemic Prevention and Control (Discussion Draft of the Standing Committee of the Municipal Committee)" was circulated among parents.

Truth: The relevant person in charge of the Hangzhou Education Bureau stated that the Zhejiang Provincial Government had not issued any relevant announcements on February 6, and this document was not a discussion draft of Hangzhou's school start arrangements.

According to the deployment of the Provincial Department of Education, the office of the Leading Group for Pneumonia Epidemic Prevention and Control of New Coronavirus Infection of the City agreed that the major primary and secondary schools (kindergartens) in Hangzhou will not start school before the end of February. The agency's unified deployment is determined, and once it is determined, it will be announced to the public in advance.

Rumors: Recently, a video of a vicious case of Taiping Liangshui, Tongliang District, Chongqing, where an epidemic prevention staff member was hacked to death by a villager who broke through the post has been circulating on the Internet.

Truth: The official Weibo of Tongliang District Public Security Bureau issued a circular on the evening of the 14th, stating that the news on the Internet was a rumor.

The report stated that after the police verified that the online video content was a murder case on February 5th in the province, there was no vicious online transmission case in Taiping Town, Tongliang District.

Rumor: Recently, a news about "10 people in the Jinyao Garden Family of Yaohua Street, Qixia District, Nanjing were tested positive" has spread widely.

Truth: The Qixia District Center for Disease Control and Prevention conducted an investigation at the first time. After investigation, the above-mentioned online news was not true.

As of February 15, only one resident of Jinyao Garden District was diagnosed with the new type of coronavirus pneumonia on February 12, and is currently hospitalized in Nanjing Public Health Medical Center. The relevant situation has been announced to the society through the media. According to the requirements of the epidemiological investigation, close contacts of family members and other members of the population were observed in accordance with the specifications for medical isolation. At present, all isolates have negative nucleic acid tests and no abnormalities in chest imaging.

Rumor: On February 15th, a piece of information about Dalian's prohibition of motor vehicles on the road from February 16th was spread on social media such as WeChat.

Truth: The "Emergency Notice" was forged from the relevant content of "Jingmen City New Coronavirus Infected Pneumonia Epidemic Prevention and Control Command (Order No. 9)", and the Dalian Municipal Government has not released it on any media, nor authorized any units and Personal post this false information.
