    [CBC]
    CBCApril 1, 2020

Yukon's chief medical officer said Wednesday there was "good news" in the latest COVID-19 numbers for the territory — three Yukoners who earlier tested positive are now considered "recovered" from the illness.

"They are symptom-free, and they have finished their self-isolation period[s]," said Dr. Brendan Hanley, at a news conference on Wednesday.

"Once a they have cleared their symptoms and finished their time of isolation, then they are no longer infectious."

Hanley also announced a new confirmed case, however — Yukon's sixth overall. He said the person returned from Europe within the last two weeks, and were already self-isolating when symptoms began to show.

Hanley said the person is currently doing well. He also confirmed that all of Yukon's cases so far have been in Whitehorse.

"We're in a good position, with no cases outside Whitehorse, and all cases doing well."

As of Wednesday, 722 Yukoners had been tested for COVID-19, and results were still pending on 26 of those.

On Wednesday afternoon, neighbouring N.W.T. confirmed its second case of COVID-19 in the community of Inuvik...

Dr. Brendan Hanley announced territory's 8th case Wednesday, the 1st found outside Whitehorse
CBC News ? Posted: Apr 08, 2020 3:42 PM CT | Last Updated: 30 minutes ago

Yukon's chief medical officer announced another confirmed case of COVID-19 in the territory — the first to be found in a rural community.

In a news conference on Wednesday, Dr. Brendan Hanley called it a "new twist" in Yukon's experience of the pandemic.

The latest case is the territory's eighth. The first seven confirmed cases were all found in Whitehorse.

Hanley said the new case is related to travel outside of Canada. The person is isolated at home and "doing well," he said.

Hanley did not name the community where the case was found. Officials had said earlier that they would not be naming affected communities outside of Whitehorse...

2 more cases of COVID-19 in Yukon, part of family 'cluster'
Chief medical officer confirms territory's 10th and 11th cases, 'directly' related to earlier confirmed case
CBC News ? Posted: Apr 20, 2020 3:30 PM CT | Last Updated: 2 hours ago

Yukon's chief medical officer said Monday there are two new confirmed cases of COVID-19, making them the territory's 10th and 11th cases.

Dr. Brendan Hanley said the new cases are "directly" related to another case, confirmed on Friday. They are part of a family "cluster," he said, and the infections are related to international travel by some of the family members.

He said the affected family self-isolated after the travellers returned.

However, Hanley said health officials are doing contact tracing, which may take several days. He said cluster investigations can be complicated, as officials track any possible contacts and test them...

The Yukon is changing its COVID-19 testing criteria to allow the casting of a wider net.

Dr. Brendan Hanley, the territory’s chief medical officer of health, announced the changes during a press conference on April 24.

The new testing criteria will come into effect on April 27, meaning testing will be available for individuals experiencing a wider array of symptoms. Hanley said these new symptoms include fever, chills, cough, difficulty breathing, sore throat or hoarse voice, headache, runny nose or nasal congestion, unexplained vomiting or diarrhea, fatigue, muscle aches, and loss of smell or taste...

New case of COVID-19 in Whitehorse
CMO says this is the first locally-acquired case but not an example of community transmission
                    Haley RitchieAug. 7, 2020 4:25 p.m.Local NewsNews

A Whitehorse resident has tested positive for COVID-19, marking the first locally-acquired case in the Yukon.

The infection is suspected to be connected to two travellers from Outside who tested positive after returning from Whitehorse and Dawson City between July 20 and July 22.

The government is still considering the new case indirect and travel-related, rather than a community transmission...
