Brazil has 13 suspected cases of coronavirus, 7 in the state of São Paulo.

In my humble opinion, the government has yet to detect a truly positive case of disability and lack of preparation, just as it did during H1N1.
And it will continue like this because the government would never have the courage to cancel the carnival.

Health investigates possible case of coronavirus in SP

Published: Tuesday, February 25, 2020, 8:28 PM Last updated on Tuesday, February 25, 2020, 8:31 PM

The Ministry of Health, in conjunction with the state and municipal departments of São Paulo, investigates a possible case of Coronavirus disease in the municipality of São Paulo.

On February 25, 2020, after 12 pm, Hospital Israelita Albert Einstein registered the notification of suspected case of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19). In attendance, he adopted all preventive measures for droplet transmission, collected samples and performed tests for common respiratory viruses and the specific exam for SARS-CoV2 (RT-PCR, according to the Charité protocol), as recommended by the World Health Organization (WHO) .

With preliminary results performed by the health unit and in accordance with the National Contingency Plan, the hospital sent the sample to the national reference laboratory, Instituto Adolfo Lutz, for counterproof.

This process of validating the results is underway and the Ministry of Health will release the final report of the investigation in due course. The portfolio therefore recommends caution about any information other than official information, since the investigation is not completed.

He is a 61-year-old man, residing in São Paulo / SP. It brings the history of travel to Italy, in the region of Lombardy (north of the country), to work, alone, in the period from the 9th to the 21st of February. It started with signs and symptoms (fever, dry cough, sore throat and runny nose) compatible with the suspected Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). The patient is well, with mild signs and has received standard precautionary guidelines.

SES / SP and SMS / SP are carrying out the identification of contacts at home, hospital and flight, with support from Anvisa with the airline.

All actions and measures followed are in accordance with the protocols of the Ministry of Health and WHO and daily updates are informed in press releases and epidemiological bulletins. For more information, visit www.saude.gov.br/coronavirus .

The sixty-year-old man was not considered a suspect by the Ministry of Health. It is known that he was isolated at the Raúl Sertá Hospital in Nova Friborg after traveling on a cruise in Argentina.

Rio de Janeiro [EFE]. A Brazilian patient who was suspected of having contracted coronavirus on a recent cruise trip through Argentina and whose case was investigated by health authorities died in the city of Nova Friborg, in the state of Rio de Janeiro, official sources reported Sunday.

The case was not yet officially considered a suspect by the Ministry of Health, but was accompanied by the Municipal Health Secretariat of that town in the mountain region of Rio de Janeiro, which submitted the examinations to the ministerial portfolio, responsible for statistics and data disclosure

The patient, sixty years old and who died on Saturday, was hospitalized and isolated at the Raúl Sertá Hospital in Nova Friburgo with a 65-year-old woman who accompanied him on the cruise.

In the city, another sixty-year-old woman who had suspicious symptoms after having returned to Brazil from Germany and who is already without the clinical picture in quarantine at home was also treated.

Just on Saturday, the Brazilian Ministry of Health confirmed the second case of coronavirus with a patient who presented the symptoms after returning from Italy and said that despite the two cases reported in the country “there is no evidence of circulation of the virus in national territory ”.

According to the ministry, the patient presented fever and muscular and headaches and was immediately treated at the Albert Einstein Hospital and as his clinical picture is stable he received guidance for home quarantine with his wife, who accompanied him on the trip and has no discomfort of health.

For Brazilian health authorities, despite the confirmation of the second "imported" case, "there are no changes in the national scenario."

The first confirmed case in the country was of a 61-year-old man who was between February 9 and 21 in Lombardy, in northern Italy, and also from Milan he returned to Brazil via Paris, where he made a connection to Sao Paul. His diagnosis was confirmed last Wednesday and then it was the first case of coronavirus in Latin America.

The Brazilian Ministry of Health reported on Saturday that in addition to the two confirmed patients, it investigates another 207 “suspected” cases of coronavirus in the country, most of them located in the state of Sao Paulo (91), and that it already ruled out 79 in The whole national territory.

In a new update, Brazil has 433 suspected cases and maintains only two confirmed cases in the state of São Paulo.

It is unacceptable for the Brazilian government to remain in the situation shown above, where the only two confirmed cases were in the same private hospital, of great importance in the city of São Paulo and all other cases remain as "suspects". How long will the government procrastinate the country's situation?
