First positive tests for coronavirus in Tirol

    febr 25 2020

In two suspected cases in Tyrol, the first tests for the coronavirus were positive. Governor Platter: "Probably the suspicion is confirmed"

As Governor G?nther Platter (?VP) confirmed on Tuesday afternoon, there are two Suspected Corona cases in Tyrol. The first tests were positive, but now more have to follow, Platter said: "There is a high probability that these suspected cases will be confirmed."

Platter did not wish to comment on the background to the two suspected cases for the time being. He said he would wait and see if the cases were confirmed. But the probability is high, the governor said, that the contagion happened in Lombardy in Italy. In both patients, the first test was positive, now a second one is taking place.

The two patients were quarantined. The country is now setting up a rapid-test centre to respond quickly to suspected cases.

    Two cases in Tyrol confirmed

    febr 25 2020

In Tyrol, two people have contracted the corona virus. This was confirmed by governor G?nther Platter (?VP) of the APA. A second test was positive. These are two 24-year-old Italians from Lombardy who live in Innsbruck.

It is still unclear where the two people were infected. The two are in any case "not life-threatening", but have only been suffering from fever. The patients had turned to the Tyrol control center and described their symptoms. You are currently isolated in the Innsbruck clinic - more information at tirol.ORF.at .

Two people have been tested positive for the coronavirus in Austria, the authorities reported on Tuesday. These are the first cases in the country after the outbreak of the virus in northern Italy.
The two 24-year-olds have been quarantined in a hospital in Innsbruck, the capital of Tyrol province, which borders Italy, according to Tyrol Governor Guenther Platter.

One of them is from Lombardy, one of the Italian regions hit with the outbreak, but it is not yet clear how the two contracted the virus. Both are suffering a fever but are in a stable condition.

Suspicion of Coronavirus: Holidaymaker in Austria Died

In the Austrian province of Carinthia a 56-year-old Italian holidaymaker from Friuli died in the night to Wednesday. The Carinthian authorities have reported that she is suspected of being infected with the coronavirus. A curfew has been imposed on the woman's apartment complex. On Wednesday afternoon it became known, that the suspected coronavirus case in Bad Kleinkirchheim in Carinthia has not been confirmed. The woman did not die of coronavirus.

As the emergency doctor could not exclude the suspicion of corona virus, the appropriate measures, as determined by the government, have been taken immediately.

A smear was taken from the dead woman from Friuli and further examinations were ordered. The results are still pending.

The apartment complex has been closed, i.e. relatives and residents are not allowed to leave the house and are also being examined.

The police are interviewing the family in order to determine any contact between the family and other persons.

Neben 72-Jährigem auch Ehepaar erkrankt. Kinder des Paares ebenfalls mit Krankheitssymptomen im Spital.

In Vienna there is the first confirmed case of coronavirus. A 72-year-old is seriously ill. The case was announced by City Councilor Peter Hacker ( SP? ). The patient should be an Austrian.

The man had been in the Rudolf Foundation for ten days, showing classic flu symptoms. The diagnosis was then made after a routine examination . This was ordered by the hospital association ( KAV ) at the weekend due to the spread of the virus for all patients who showed corresponding symptoms. On Thursday he was brought to the isolation station in the Kaiser-Franz-Josef hospital .
