Coronavirus: Six more Aussies test positive in NSW

    Coronavirus: Australian cases rapidly increasing

Six more people have tested positive to the coronavirus in NSW, bringing the total number of those infected in the state to 15 since the outbreak began.
NSW Health is alerting passengers who were on five separate flights from Asia in the past week after two men in their 30s, a man in his 50s and two women in their 60s tested positive following their arrival in NSW.
The men in their 30s travelled from Iran, the two women flew from Japan and South Korea respectively, and the man in his 50s was returning from Singapore.
Meanwhile a woman in her 50s who hasn't been out of Australia recently has also tested positive to the coronavirus.
And health authorities are advising passengers who sat near a coronavirus-infected woman on a Dubai-to-Sydney flight to immediately isolate themselves at home...

I now know one of the first degree contacts of one of the recently confirmed cases here in NSW. I can also confirm that our government is not performing proper contact tracing or advising appropriate quarantine procedures for those potentially exposed.

This is especially true, in this case, where Ambulance NSW employees would routinely arrive at the medical facility and utilised the same shared toilet facilities that the infected doctor used, before departing to have potentially further contacts with the general public. None of this is being identified or traced. Only patients are being traced!

We are not organised and we are not efficient ..., yet. Hopefully this will improve quickly, but right now I am sure that person to person spread is happening unabated in Australia.

(Update, as I was typing, Shiloh posted the above which identifies the case at Ryde. Staff have been notified but they haven't been quarantined and despite recommendations to wear masks earlier in the day, they were requested to "stop wearing them, as it was scaring patients" later).

If symptoms develop, people who were on that flight should isolate themselves straight away and contact their GP or local emergency department.

This latest case is not linked to, and was not on the same flight, as the fifth confirmed case who has also returned from Iran but on a different day...
