There have been two confirmed cases of norovirus and several people complaining of symptoms at the Beach Grove home in Charlottetown.
Provincial Chief Health Officer Dr. Heather Morrison said both cases are in the same unit of the long-term care facility, and a number of other people in the unit have had symptoms.
"These symptoms have tended to resolve themselves very quickly within 24 hours. They sometimes have one bout of vomiting and a couple of bouts of diarrhea," said Morrison.
"They have been contained apparently in this one unit. They have added additional precautions at Beach Grove Home in terms of additional hand washing etc., and some additional staff. And all the families of the residents have been informed."
The cases surfaced a little more than a week ago.
